Venus Lighthouse: Part 1
Saturos wasn't happy.
Actually, nobody was happy. Tensions Felix only dimly understood, combined with the stress of Isaac's continual pursuit, had everybody snapping at each other by the time they reached Venus Lighthouse. And then when they had to go and find another path, because this was the exit, Felix had almost expected Menardi to break her scythe.
But they had made it. Even without the decorative motifs, Felix could tell the moment he stepped back into the Lighthouse. So much Earth power, rooting him, lending stability and support and empowering his own Psynergy.
There in the antechamber, Saturos and Menardi argued quietly for a moment. Then Menardi came over to Felix, handed him one of the mythril pouches she carried - the one with the Jupiter Star in it - and told him, "We will take it from here. Take Kraden and your sister to the ship, and wait for us there." Then she turned away and dragged Sheba through the doorway, almost leaving Saturos behind.
Felix sighed. But Menardi's orders were clear, and though he wouldn't say so he wasn't entirely sure Jenna and Kraden would be able to get there on their own. So he led the way up the stairs, to where the electric-looking barrier had been. Where it still was, actually, but from this side there was a button that would presumably turn it off.
He was about to move a nearby statue onto the button when a realization struck him: he left Sheba with Saturos and Menardi. Saturos and Menardi, who were headed to the Aerie to light the Lighthouse. And Isaac's group would follow them up there, and try to stop them, and get into a fight. Which could get Sheba hurt, especially if Isaac didn't know who she was. And Felix had promised to protect Sheba.
He turned to the others and asked, "You know how to get there, right?" As they nodded uncertainly, he went on. "I'm going back for Sheba."
Felix suspected that Kraden understood precisely, but the sage didn't say a word. Felix moved the statue so they could get out, and then backtracked to hurry after Saturos' group.
