Jamie, new-arrived through the Bounds, is not in the habit of venturing into places that scream 'stay away', himself.
He's more concerned with the snowdrifts, and the lack of any comforting signs of civilization nearby. He's survived in the wilderness often enough that he's not immediately worried about his own survival, but a house or even a tent would be awfully nice right now.
